Wedding Update #1

Hello everyone,

Ian had this idea to create this blog to keep everyone updated on our wedding planning. Now, with me in school, we have actually accomplished quite a lot. We're trying to avoid the whole planning while I'm in school thing. I guess the most important info to let everyone know is the date; May 25, 2008. Time: But, what else is important? The location of course.

Drum roll please...

*insert drumming noises here*

Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club in Richmond

There's the url for any curious minds that would like to know. Now, since the wedding will be during the morning/early afternoon, no evening weddings for us, it's going to be a cocktail style reception. We haven't quite worked out all the details with the place since it's so ruddy early! But, we will most likely have no dancing and no booze. Who wants to dance in the middle of the day/drink during the day? If you answered; I do! to either of these two questions, you might want to think about DA or AA. Just a suggestion.

As for the other things that we have all sorted out; photography, wedding dress, marriage commisioner. If you have ever worked at the aquarium, then you won't be shocked to hear that Ji Hong (http://www.jihongphoto.com/wedding_gallery.htm) is our photograper. If you look closely enough at the website, you are sure to find some familar faces from around the fish sanctuary. (Yes, that is what I have now dubbed the aquarium.) We're really looking forward to seeing pictures that we didn't even know were taken. It should be quite an adventure.

As for the wedding dress, I can't say much because obviously it's going to be a surprise for Ian. But, I'll say that it's fabulous and I look fabulous. And, yes, I cannot pronounce that word properly as some of you may know.

Finally, marriage commisioner is all booked. We met with her and we really like her. The reason that we chose to go with this person is that she is a lot like us. She has that carefree/laidback attitude that Ian and I are using at the attitude of our wedding. We're confident that she will be the perfect kind of person to officiate our wedding. I'm sure Ian may have more to add on that because the words are not coming to me.

Well, that's about all that is set in concrete right now, so keep checking for constant/not-so-constant updates.

Until next time,
Katie (and Ian who didnt' write this)
